The Web Response Grabber (eGrabber) software is optional software that works with the web-based Relocation Specialist.  It is an easy to use and powerful utility that automatically downloads emails from web forms and third party sites, and processes them into your database.  eGrabber also can import records from popular websites such as Lending Tree™, DeltaNet™, Cendant Mobility's Broker Center™, Yahoo™ and others.

 

Manually processing the lead emails can be time-consuming & error prone which might lead to loss of an valuable lead too.  Save multiple hours spent in retyping data into your database using eGrabber.

How eGrabber works

 

There are two steps to using eGrabber; capturing the data and importing the data into Relocation Specialist.

CAPTURING THE DATA.  Data records are captured either automatically as in the case of emails using Microsoft Outlook or with a few clicks of the mouse as in the case with records from Lending Tree and other sources.

 

IMPORTING THE DATA. Once the record(s) are captured, they are imported automatically into the Import table of Relocation Specialist by clicking the 'eGrabber' link.  Records may be transferred into the Referrals table one at a time or all at once as needed.

 

 

 

 

eGrabber Installation and Configuration

Upon purchase of the eGrabber software you will receive an email containing a link to the eGrabber.com website and your license number(s).  Open the email and click the link in the body of the email.  You will be taken to the eGrabber installation page.  Click the button marked DOWNLOAD and SAVE the file your PC's Desktop.  When the download is complete, close the download box and return to your PC's Desktop.  Click the new eGrabber icon that is on your Desktop and follow these steps to install the software:
  1. You may get an Open File - Security Warning.  If so, click RUN to ignore the warning and begin the installation. 
  2. The Welcome page appears.  Click Next.
  3. Read the License Agreement and if you agree, click YES.
  4. Review and update, if needed, the Customer Information.  Click Next.
  5. At the Choose Destination Location page, accept the default and click Next.
  6. At the Select Destination Applications page, check the 'Data Export' box and click Next.
  7. At the Select Program Folder page, accept the default and click Next.
  8. At the Select Web Response Grabber Standard Shortcut page, check the 'Add to Desktop' box and click Next.
  9. Review the Start Copying Files page and click Next.
  10. At the Install Wizard Complete page, uncheck the box for the Readme File and click Finish.
  11. When the eGrabber Demo page appears, click Close.
  12. When the eGrabber Product Registration page appears, copy the License number from the email you received and paste it into the field and click Register.
  13. After seeing the Status is Successful, click the Continue button.
  14. The Web Response Grabber Standard software will open.  Close the application using, File, Exit.  The standard software is now installed on your PC.
  15. Attached to the email you received is a file labeled 'eGrabber Utilities.zip'.  Save/copy the file to your PC's Desktop.  Unzip the file and run it.  This utility will add the necessary files to your PC's registry and add the Database Clear Tool to your PC's Desktop.
  16. The last step will be to copy and paste any additional templates that you will be using.  Templates are files that contain instructions for extracting data from emailed sales leads and/or websites.  Examples of templates include BrokerCenter, RELO and LendingTree.  Ask your Customer Support Representative about additional templates if needed.

This completes the installation and configuration of eGrabber.

 

 

 

Importing records from Broker Center

The following are the steps to follow to import individual records using the eGrabber software:
  1. Login to Cendant Mobility's Broker Center website and select the record you want to COPY.  (Be sure to click the 'View Detail' link that displays all the fields.)
  2. Right-click your mouse and click SELECT ALL.
  3. Right-click your mouse and click COPY.
  4. Click the eGrabber Toolbar.  Be sure the first option is set to: 'Text in Clipboard' and the second option is set to: 'BrokerCenter'. 
  5. Click the GO button.  The fields from the record have now been pasted to the 'egrabberdata.txt' file on your local PC.  When ready to upload the record(s) to ReloSpec, use the 'Upload eGrabber Records' instructions below.

Importing records from Lending Tree

The following are the steps to follow to import individual records using the eGrabber software:
  1. Login to Lending Tree's website and select the record you want to COPY.  
  2. Click the 'Print Record' button at the bottom of the page and wait until the 'Print' popup box appears.
  3. Right-click your mouse and click SELECT ALL.
  4. Right-click your mouse and click COPY.
  5. Click the eGrabber Toolbar.  Be sure the first option is set to: 'Text in Clipboard' and the second option is set to: 'Lending Tree'. 
  6. Click the GO button.  The fields from the record have now been pasted to the 'egrabberdata.txt' file on your local PC.  When ready to upload the record(s) to ReloSpec, use the 'Upload eGrabber Records' instructions below.

Upload eGrabber Records to ReloSpec

Once you have pasted records to the 'egrabberdata.txt' file on your local PC you will want to upload them to ReloSpec.  Records that are contained in 'egrabberdata.txt' may have come from a variety of sources including Broker Center, RELO Xchange, or emailed sales leads.  These are the steps to follow:
  1. From the Utility Settings page of ReloSpec, click the 'Upload from eGrabber' link.  The 'eGrabber Import to ReloSpec - Part 1' page will open.
  2. Click the BROWSE button and browse to find the file: 'C:\Program files\eGrabber\Web Response Grabber Standard\egrabberdata.txt'.  Select it and click the 'UPLOAD TO SERVER...' button.  The '...Part 2' page will open.
  3. The result of the upload is displayed.  Click the 'Click here to continue' button.  The '...Part 3' page will open.
  4. The records to be added to the Import table are displayed.  Click the 'Import Now' button.  The number of records added to the Import table is displayed.  Click the 'Click here to view the Import table' button.  The Import table is displayed on the '...Part 4' page. 
  5. After uploading the records in 'egrabberdata.txt' you'll want to CLEAR (delete) the records from the file so that they next time you 'Upload from eGrabber' you'll get only the new records.  To CLEAR the records, go to your PC's Desktop and click the 'Database Clear Tool' icon that was put there during installation.  Browse to the 'C:\Program files\eGrabber\Web Response Grabber Standard\egrabberdata.txt' file.  Select it, click the CLEAR button and OK.  The old records have now been cleared (deleted).

The Import table page contains a column used to quickly identify those records you want to add to the Referrals table in ReloSpec.  Records with a checkmark may be updated to Import=TRUE or Import=FALSE by checking the record and clicking the 'Change Now' button at the top of the column.  Whether the records are changed to TRUE or FALSE depends on the setting of the 'Change Now' box below the page heading.  If the radio button 'Change to TRUE' is selected, all checked records will be changed to Import=TRUE. If the radio button 'Change to FALSE' is selected, all checked records will be changed to Import=FALSE. 

Once you have records to be imported into the Referrals table, click the 'CLICK HERE' link in the box at the bottom of the page.  All records where the Import=TRUE will be added to the Referrals table and then deleted from the Import table.  After the records are in the Referrals table you may do anything needed with them, as though you manually entered a new record.

Notes about use of the Import table

  1. Records may be updated in the Import table.  Updates you may want to make include changing the Referral Type, Referral Status, and/or Subtype.  Whatever changes are made in the Import table will be reflected in the record when added to the Referrals table.
  2. Records may be kept in the Import table as long as needed.

How to Open, Display the eGrabber Toolbar

There are a couple ways to display the Toolbar.  Here are the ways in the order of preference.

  1. Open ‘My Computer’ (Start, My Computer) and browse to ‘C:\Program files\eGrabber\Web Response Grabber Standard’ and right-click on the file ‘WrgPro.exe’.  Go to ‘Send To’ and click on ‘Desktop (create shortcut)’.  That will put a new icon on your Desktop which you can use each day to open the Toolbar and put the eGrabber symbol on the Taskbar near the clock.

  2. The other way is to launch the Web Response Grabber Standard (eGrabber) software application and from the Menu bar click ‘File, Show Import Toolbar’.

How to install and use the 'Database Clear Tool'

To install the 'Database Clear Tool' on your Desktop, Open and Run the 'eGrabber Utilities.zip' file that came with the eGrabber Installation Instructions email.  The purpose of the tool is to delete all records from the "egrabberdata.txt" file.  Once your records have been uploaded to the ReloSpec Import table you no longer need to have them in the "egrabberdata.txt" file on your PC.  

To use the 'Database Clear Tool':

  1. You must exit the Web Response Grabber Standard software, if it is open.  Note: you do not have to exit the Toolbar, but the main application must be closed.
  2. Go to your Desktop and click on the tool.  A pop-up page will appear.  
  3. Click the three small dots.  You will be taken to the "C:\Program files\egrabber\Web Response Grabber Standard" folder.  
  4. Click the file named "egrabberdata.txt" and click OK.  (Note: some PCs will select the file automatically and you will not have to click OK.)  
  5. Click the CLEAR button.  A message will appear saying it has cleared the database.  
  6. Click OK.

Updating a Template

This step assumes you have already installed the eGrabber template, it is working, and that you now want to install the latest version of that template to your PC.

  1. From the Main Menu, click 'Utility Settings'.

  2. Click the link for 'View eGrabber Templates'.

  3. Click the template you want to download to your PC.

  4. When the file download box appears. Click SAVE.

  5. Browse to the 'C:\Program files\e grabber\Web response grabber standard' folder and click SAVE.  NOTE: For those using eGrabber version 2.5 browse to ''C:\Program files\e grabber\Web response grabber standard 2.5' folder and click SAVE.

The template has now been saved on your PC.
